Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is essential, along with a relevant qualification in childcare or early childhood education, such as NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
Key Skills :
- Confident in reading stories aloud — even upside down — while handling frequent, enthusiastic interruptions with patience and good humor.
- A creative and imaginative approach is essential; if a child asks you to become an astronaut steering a rocket ship full of dinosaurs, you'll step into the role wholeheartedly.
- While musical talent is optional, the ability to sing (especially out of tune) with confidence in front of a crowd of small children is highly valued.
- Willingness to embrace the elements — whether that means dancing in the rain, making mud pies, or building sandcastles in unexpected weather.
- Strong observational skills and the ability to quickly and accurately count multiple moving children — a vital talent in our fast-paced environment.
