At Brixham College, we are seeking an experienced, compassionate, and proactive Pastoral Leader to join our dynamic and supportive pastoral team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a central role in shaping the culture and well-being of our student community.

About the Role

As a Pastoral Leader, you will work closely with the Behaviour for Learning Manager and the wider Pastoral Team to provide high-quality behaviour and pastoral support across the college. You will be a visible and approachable presence around the school, fostering positive relationships, promoting high standards, and ensuring that every student receives the care and guidance they need to succeed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day pastoral care and behaviour support to students
  • Maintain a strong presence around the school, supporting both students and staff
  • Assist in the coordination of interventions for students requiring additional support
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with parents/carers and external agencies
  • Manage and organise student information and behavioural records efficiently
  • Promote a safe, inclusive, and respectful school environment

What We’re Looking For

  • A strong commitment to student welfare, safeguarding, and success
  • Experience working in a pastoral or behaviour support role (school-based experience is a plus)
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Organisational and administrative competence
  • Confidence in dealing with sensitive situations with discretion and professionalism
