About The Role

Are you passionate about making a difference in a child’s life? Do you have a caring nature, a commitment to inclusive education, and the skills to support children with a variety of needs? If so, Plympton Academy would love to hear from you!

We’re looking for a Specialist Teaching Assistant (Medical) to join our supportive and nurturing team. In this rewarding role, you’ll work closely with students who have Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) or additional educational needs, helping them thrive academically, emotionally, and socially.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Supporting students with a range of needs, both in and out of the classroom
  • Providing personal and medical care with dignity and compassion
  • Working as part of a dedicated team, including teaching staff, the SENDCo, and external professionals
  • Helping create a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment where every child can succeed

What We’re Looking For:

  • A warm, caring personality and a strong sense of empathy
  • Experience or understanding of supporting young people with EHCPs
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills
  • A qualification in personal care is desirable, but not essential – we value passion and potential!

Why Join Plympton Academy?

At Plympton Academy, we believe in nurturing our staff as much as our students. That’s why we invest in our people, reflecting our commitment to staff wellbeing, development, and support. You’ll join a vibrant, forward-thinking school community where your contribution truly matters.

Apply today and become a key part of a team that’s transforming lives every day.
